Boys and Girls
Boys and Girls is a one hour interactive musical that looks at truancy and the responsibilities of young people towards their own safety and education.
The play concentrates on the lives of a group of friends who are introduced to the audience when they are four years old. We see them go through their school life and their different attitudes to education, each other and their own self respect. The comedy play draws the audience into these lives and the situations the characters find themselves in. The play finishes when the characters are in their twenties and we see what they've achieved in life.
This sets up a comfortable forum to discuss attitudes towards education and allows young audiences to understand their own responsibilities to their own education.
On the very first performance of Boys and Girls a teacher commented that this was a 'stunning piece of theatre,' as it went on to be seen by tens of thousands of young people.
